Our HR Consultant

Heather Parsons, MBA, SHRM-CP, PHR, CWCS

An accomplished HR professional with over 20 years of experience spanning financial services, education, and non-profit sectors. Since joining The Insurance Market in November 2021 as the People and Operations Manager, Heather has demonstrated her leadership and expertise in human resources. In March 2024, she helped found IMHR, where she now provides tailored HR solutions as an HR Consultant.

Heather’s academic background includes an MBA from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Wilmington University. She has also earned certificates in Human Resource Management and Training and Staff Development from Wilmington University. Her professional certifications include the Professional in HR Management (PHR) from HRCI, the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM, and the Certified WorkComp Specialist (CWCS) from the WorkComp Institute. Heather holds additional specialized certificates from SHRM, including Veterans at Work, Getting Talent Back to Work, and Employing Abilities at Work, as well as a Certificate in HR Ethics from HRCI. Her dedication to the HR field is also reflected in her Advanced Certificate in Leadership from the National Society of Leadership and Success, exemplifying her commitment to growth and leadership within the industry.

Currently, Heather serves as the Membership Director for the Maryland SHRM State Council and as the President of Eastern Shore SHRM.
